Siem Reap Tour

This tour takes you to the main highlights of Siem Reap. Explore the temples of Pre Rup, Ta Prohm, Bantey Kadei, Bayon, the Elephant Terrace and Angkor Wat, avoiding crowds wherever possible thanks to your local guide’s expertise. Take a boat trip to the fascinating floating villages of the Tonle Sap Lake and experience for yourself how the inhabitants of this UNESCO biosphere reserve live. Prepare to be amazed by the internationally acclaimed circus of Phare Ponleu Selpak, a multidisciplinary art center for disadvantaged children and young Cambodians that has captivated audiences worldwide with its unique artistic concept and social impact model.

Siem Reap is fast becoming a favourite for expats to escape to. It not only has the culture of the temples but is also a very cosmopolitan town with its traditional shows, local arts, multiple restaurants, bars and nightlife. There are also many experiences and activities that you can add to your tour to make it special and unique for you.

Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrive Siem Reap & Pre Rup Temple (Sunset)

On arrival in Siem Reap you will be met by an Asia for Expats representative and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon you will enjoy an introduction to the temples and sunset at Pre Rup. Once the sun sets your guide can take you back to your hotel or into town for some shopping or a meal.

Day 2: Floating Villages & Phare Circus

Take a half day trip to the floating community of Kampong Phluk which is best known for its stilted villages and flooded forest. During this tour you will explore the flooded forest and take a boat out to see the Tonle Sap, the largest fresh water lake in SE Asia.

In the evening enjoy the fabulous Cambodian circus, a mixture of acrobatics, music, dance and theatrical performance organized by the Performing Arts School of the Phare Ponleu Selpak. This stunning show has captivated audiences across the wold and is renowned for its unique artistic concept and social impact.

Day 3: Full Day Angkor Temple Tour

Spend the day exploring the ancient Angkor Temples, the symbolic heart and soul of Cambodia. They represent the epicentre of Khmer civilization with Angkor Wat being the largest religious monument in the world. Your guide will take you to the sacred places of Ta Prohm, Bantey Kadei, Angkor Wat, Bayon and the Elephant Terrace, giving you a comprehensive insight into the incredible Archaeological park. Our local guides are trained to avoid the crowds wherever possible and may change the order of the temples to give you the best and most intimate experience. Depending on the time it might be possible to see an extra temple so please ask your guide if your still thirst for more.

Day 4: Depart Siem Reap

Today you are free to enjoy your last day as you wish before your departure. Explore the town, join a workshop, find some unique souvenirs or book one of our fun activities. We will then pick you up in plenty of time and transfer you to the airport for your departing flight.

See the incredible temples from the air!  Your helicopter flights will last anywhere from 8 minutes, to a whole day.  As well as Angkor you can also discover Banteay Chhmar, Preah Vihear, Koh Ker and Beng Mealea.  For longer flights we can also incorporate time on the ground.

Rides from 1 to 4 hours, cart rides and lessons for beginners.  We can also arrange lead rides for those geting off the ranch for the first time.

A two-hour Potter’s Wheel Workshop where you will be guided by a local potter to create a traditional Khmer Ceramic Pot, decorated with different colored local glazes. After your class your pots will be fired and your finished masterpiece will be delivered to your hotel the following day.

Challenges:

  • Take the $2 tuk-tuk challenge (Pay no more than $2 for every trip in Siem Reap)
  • Make sure that you try two of Cambodia’s most traditional dishes (Amok and Lok-Lak)
  • More and more people are exploring the temples by bike (Do you fancy 2 wheels or 4?)
  • Buy a local ‘Krama’ scarf

Flights

We will arrange all flights and transportation within Asia as mentioned in the itinerary. Our team can arrange bonded ATOL flights to/from Asia upon request. Please complete the enquiry form with the necessary information to issue a quote for your international flights.

Visa

A visa is required to enter Cambodia, the current cost is $30. Our team will happily advise you on visa requirements.

Passport

Please ensure your passport has a validity of at least six months beyond stay. Also at least one blank page for each of the countries you are visiting and 4 passport-size photos are needed.

Insurance

Please make sure you have comprehensive travel insurance adequate for your holidays and the activities you want to undertake. Your insurance must cover medical costs related to hospitalisation, repatriation and emergency travel.

Vaccinations

Please consult your doctor, clinic or your national Department of Health for recommended vaccinations and medication when travelling to Southeast Asia. It is important to arrange the necessary appointments well in advance of your trip.

Currency
