Ngapali is a beach located on the Bengal coast in Rakhine State and it is considered Myanmar’s premier beach destination.
Having a relaxing break and kicking back is not why most people come to Myanmar, however Ngapali’s paradise-like palm-lined beach the perfect place to do it. There are a number of fishing villages across the area and nowadays it is possible to take part in a surprisingly diverse number of activities, including snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking, fishing, cycling, motor biking, golf, surfing (during monsoon season) and hot air balloon.
Although there are a reasonable number of resorts in Ngapali beach it is easy to witness traditional rural Myanmar in the neighbouring bays where modern development has not yet made a large impact. It is possible to visit the fishing villages and the islands near the coast on a boat tour.
