If you are looking for a sense of achievement then look no further than a trek to the top of Mount Rinjani. This is not a challenge for the faint hearted as getting to the top will definitely test your resolve and requires some grit and determination. At an elevation of 3,726 metres Mount Rinjani is the second highest mountain in Indonesia outside Papua. Many people that undertake the trek do not make it all the way and stop when they are greeted by the beautiful views of the crater lake at 2,639 metres. To make the extra climb it takes a higher level of fitness and inner strength. but the achievement of making it to the top is an incomparable feeling.
You will get to witness the wonderful scenery, take some incredible photos and return home with many magical memories. If you want to feel invigorated and are keen for a challenge this tour is definitely for you.
ITINERARY DETAILS
Day 1: Arrive Lombok & travel to Tetebatu
On arrival at Lombok International Airport, you will be met by an Asia for Expats representative who will then transfer you to Tetebatu. Along the way you will stop off at three different artisan villages of Pringgaseia (Fabric Weaving), Masbagik (Pottery) and Loyok (Basket Weaving). Once you arrive in Tetebatu you will meet your guides and prepare for your trek.
Day Day 2: Tetebatu (Mount Rinjani)
We start by driving to Timba Nuh where you enter the National Park and the climbing begins. Lunch will be taken at Post 2 at 1,500 metres above sea level before continuing to Port 3 (2,000 metres). From here you get breathtaking views across to Sumbawa Island. Your camp for the night is at the crater rim where you can enjoy views of Mount Rinjani with Segara Anak lake and Gunung Baru Jari (a new volcano) in the back ground.

Day 3: Return to Tetebatu
This morning you will push for the summit at 5am after a light breakfast. You should reach the summit after about two hours where you will have time to enjoy the spectacular views and a great personal achievement. You then start your descent back down to the crater rim where you will enjoy a larger breakfast. From here you trek to Post 3 and then through the jungle to Banok Village. Following lunch at Post 1 in Myung Polak you trek through Banok Village and from there return to Tetebatu for a well-deserved rest and dinner.

Day 4: Depart Lombok
Today you will leave Tetebatu and retrace your steps back to the airport. Depending on your arrival and departure times we will transfer you straight to the airport. Alternatively, we will visit the three different artisan villages if they were missed on day 1.

Local Artisans Tour

Visit the textile village of Pringgasela, known for its weaving and fabric dying. Explore the village of Masbagik, where you will observe the pottery making by the local women. Finally, enjoy a visit to the village of Loyok, where the locals have specialised in producing beautiful baskets for generations.
Day trip to Selong Beach

The white sandy beach of Selong is located on the south coast of Lombok. It is an amazing spot to relax and admire the Indonesian beach landscape. There are few hotels and restaurants in the area so if you are looking for a beach escape after climbing up Mount Rinjani then Selong is the best option.

Flights
We will arrange all flights and transportation within the country as mentioned in the itinerary. Our team can arrange bonded ATOL flights to/from Asia upon request. Please complete the enquiry form with the necessary information to issue a quote for your international flights.
Visa
A visa is required to enter Indonesia. Our team will happily advise you on visa requirements.
Passport
Please ensure your passport has a validity of at least six months beyond stay. Also at least one blank page for each of the countries you are visiting and 4 passport-size photos are needed.
Insurance
Please make sure you have comprehensive travel insurance adequate for your holidays and the activities you want to undertake. Your insurance must cover medical costs related to hospitalisation, repatriation and emergency travel.
Vaccinations
Please consult your doctor, clinic or your national Department of Health for recommended vaccinations and medication when travelling to Southeast Asia. It is important to arrange the necessary appointments well in advance of your trip.
