Land of the Rising Dragon

Chill out in Kampot & Kep

Private Tour

Starting from $399 pp

The area of Kampot and Kep has always been an expat haven for those living in Phnom Penh. One reason being its close proximity to the Capital with direct road links straight down National route 2. However, the main reason is that it is so laid back that you may fall over; making it is the perfect place to take a break from your hectic schedule. The main word to describe this area of Cambodia is timeless charm. You will not find large hotels or restaurants but rustic, characterful places with interesting people both expats and locals.

Kampot’s river side and small town are well worth a night before heading to the coast. Enjoy some good food, the breeze along the riverside and some colonial buildings scattered around town. Once in Kep you must sample the local crab. Also nothing beats taking a short boat trip to the nearby Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay). The beach has lovely clean sand, 4 or 5 places to eat and that is pretty much it; the perfect place to relax. The beach is also great for families as the sand shelf is very shallow so you have to go a fair distance before reaching deep water, making the island very safe.

Day 1: Arrive Phnom Penh to Kampot

On arrival in Phnom Penh you will be met by an Asia for Expats representative. Directly from the airport we start our journey to Kampot. Along the way you have the choice of stopping either at Choeung EK (Killing Fields) or at the Phnom Tamao wildlife sanctuary.
