If you are looking for a quick break to explore culture and scenery in a modern city but with the opportunity of delving in to Hanoi’s past then this is the perfect mini-break. Great food, clean streets, interesting cultural attractions and good value for money Vietnam’s capital has a little bit for everyone.

During this short break you will have the evenings to discover the city your way. For your touring day you will visit the city’s main sights such as Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, the temple of literature and the city museum. The afternoon adds a bit of fun by exploring the old quarter via cyclo. Make sure you have your camera at hand as you will get many opportunities to take pictures of fascinating daily lives. You also have the freedom to take some time out and enjoy a drink at one of the local beer houses with your guide to lap up the local life at a slower and more enjoyable pace. We also throw in a little more culture with an hour water puppet show that takes place in the oldest theatre in the city.

ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 1: Arrive Hanoi

On arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, you will be met by an Asia for Expats representative who will transfer you to your hotel. You are then free to enjoy your first night, go out and enjoy a few drinks or dinner overlooking the Hoan Kiem Lake.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour, Cyclo Tour & Water Puppet Show

Today’s city tour starts by visiting Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum. From here you continue to the One Pillar Pagoda before visiting the Tran Quoc Pagoda (Hanoi’s oldest). In the afternoon you then visit the Temple of Literature; Vietnam’s first university and the Hanoi city museum. The highlight of the day is taking a cyclo-ride around the Old Quarter streets. Before pausing at the Hoan Kiem Lake to learn about the legend and visit Ngoc Son Temple, followed by an early evening Water Puppet Show.

Day 3: Depart Hanoi

Today you are free to do as you wish, until we pick you up and transfer you to Noi Bay International Airport with plenty of time before your departure flight.

Flights

Visa

A visa is required to enter Vietnam. Our team will happily advise you on visa requirements.

Passport

Please ensure your passport has a validity of at least six months beyond stay. Also at least one blank page for each of the countries you are visiting and 4 passport-size photos are needed.

Insurance

Please make sure you have comprehensive travel insurance adequate for your holidays and the activities you want to undertake. Your insurance must cover medical costs related to hospitalisation, repatriation and emergency travel.

Vaccinations

Please consult your doctor, clinic or your national Department of Health for recommended vaccinations and medication when travelling to Southeast Asia. It is important to arrange the necessary appointments well in advance of your trip.

Currency

US Dollars (USD) are accepted in some places in Vietnam. You can exchange US Dollars for the local currency Vietnamese Dong (VND) once you arrive. For currency conversion please click here.

Only once you are fully happy with your tailor-made itinerary you will receive an invoice. In order to secure availability for your booking, tour, activities and accommodation we require a 20% deposit.
