Flores Tour

This island was named after the word ‘flowers’ by a 16th century Portuguese colonist due to the islands’ beautiful floral diversity. During your time in Flores you will witness stunning natural scenery, rice fields divided in the shape of a spider’s web, unique hidden beaches, smoking volcanoes and above all unique and interesting people.


Arriving in Ende you will traverse the wonderful windy roads that offer incredible views over the surrounding countryside before ending in Moni. The main highlight in Moni is the sunrise or early morning walk through the Kelimtu National Park to see the famous twin lake volcano. Also around Moni you will get a real insight into the local culture by visiting the villages of Saga and Wolondoo as well as the village of Watublapi on the way to Maumere. During your break you will stay at a lovely eco-lodge in Moni as well as your choice of beach hotel in Maumere.


Day 1: Arrive in Ende

On arrival in Ende you will be met by an Asia for Expats representative and transferred to Moni. On route you will get the opportunity to stop along the way to take photos of the stunning landscapes as well as stopping at the village of Saga. Here you can see where the local people have built their ritual houses on the side of a rugged valley. You finish your day in Moni were you are free to relax and settle in to your surroundings.

Day 2: Moni and Kelimutu

This morning you will enjoy an excursion to the nearby Kelimutu volcanic crater lakes. The lakes are stunning and change colour depending on when you visit and are described as the most amazing natural phenomenon in Flores. After lunch you will enjoy a short hike to Wolondopo village where you can see the village special ritual house and village shrine. For the rest of the day you can explore some of the surrounding areas by foot before returning to your eco-lodge.


Day 3: Maumere and Watublapi

Today you will travel towards the coastal town of Maumere. Before reaching your hotel you will pause along the coast for a coffee break at Paga beach. You then visit Watublapi village where you will enjoy a traditional reception of dancing and folk songs, giving you the opportunity to observe some of the local traditions of dance, music and textiles. Once in Maumere you are then free to enjoy some beach time.


Day 4: Depart

Today you are free to enjoy a morning on the beach before we will pick you up in plenty of time and transfer you to Maumere airport for your departing flight home.

Trekking to Wae ReboTrekking to Wae Rebo

Trekking and staying in the village of Wae Rebo is an amazing experience. The walk to the village is about 9 km, nevertheless you have the entire day and you can go at your own pace. Once you reach the village you can interact with the villagers enjoy lunch and dinner and sleep in the most authentic home stay.

Enjoy the best sunset over the fishing port of Labuan Bajo from the ‘Paradise Sunset bar’. Make sure that you get to the bar early to reserve the best spot. Sit back and relax with a cold beer or a cocktail and watch the sun melt into the sea. We suggest to combine this activity with a dinner at the local fish market.

Head down to the local fish market with your guide for the best and freshest fish dinner. The evening stalls set up along the harbour edge display all sizes of fish, squid and prawns of many different varieties. You can decide the best spot for you and how you would like your fish cooked.

One of the highlights of Moni is a sunrise or 8am walk to Kelimutu National Park where you will witness the unique twin volcano lake. The drive up to the volcano is 30 minutes from Moni and once at the car park the walk is about 45 minutes.

Board a motorized fishing boat in Wairterang that will take you out to the waters surrounding Pangabatang island. Once here you can relax on the white sandy beach or swim and snorkel into crystal clear waters before enjoying a Barbecue lunch that is set up for you on the beach.

  • Enjoy the seafood food as it will probably the cheapest that you will find in Indonesia (Recommendation: Ikan Bakar Jakarta)
  • Bring enough cash with you as the only place you can with draw money is one you get to Maumere


  • On your way down Kelimutu you will see an official feeding ground for monkeys. Get a picture with one of them but be careful, they will like any accessory you wear.

For Families

  • Stay for an extra day and enjoy a day trip snorkelling at Waiara beach or near the Flores Sao Resort.

A visa is required to enter Indonesia. Our team will happily advise you on visa requirements.


Please ensure your passport has a validity of at least six months beyond stay. Also at least one blank page for each of the countries you are visiting and 4 passport-size photos are needed.


Please make sure you have comprehensive travel insurance adequate for your holidays and the activities you want to undertake. Your insurance must cover medical costs related to hospitalisation, repatriation and emergency travel.


Please consult your doctor, clinic or your national Department of Health for recommended vaccinations and medication when travelling to Southeast Asia. It is important to arrange the necessary appointments well in advance of your trip.
